Howie Roseman announced today, at the NFL scouting combine, that the Philadelphia Eagles will not use the Franchise Tag on Quarterback Nick Foles. That means that when the new league year begins, Nick Foles will enter free agency and will have the ability to sign with whichever team he wishes to.

This means that the Eagles will enter the 2019 season with Carson Wentz as the number 1 QB, and Nate Sudfeld as the apparent backup. Sudfeld is scheduled to be a restricted free agent, but the Eagles will almost certainly tender Sudfeld.
