Rumors of Dallas Goedert’s broken arm were wrong

On Saturday, August 11th, the Eagles got back to practice after their Thursday night pre-season opener loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lincoln Financial Field and 35,000 Eagles faithful filled the stands to watch their Birds.

Before the practice was over, rookie Tight End Dallas Goedert had left the field with an undisclosed injury. Enter Twitter. Someone put the word out there that they’d seen Goedert with a cast on his arm and that he’d broken it in practice. Before long, the rumor was that he’d be out 6 to 8 weeks.

When asked about the ‘broken arm’ on Sunday, Goedert had a good laugh about it. “I was like, ‘I broke my arm? That’s news to me’, luckily, I was able to go right to the source.”

Goedert when on to say, “It’s pretty crazy, it’s kind of what the social media world does. People over-react. Nobody was sure. I had a broken arm, but they weren’t sure. I had this and that. People were just saying things. It was nice that I knew what was going on.”

When asked about the actual injury, Goedert said “It’s just a minor injury. Just a minor little nick. Should be back in the next day or two. Nothing serious. Just a bump and a bruise type thing, ya know?”

So there you have it, right from the horses mouth. Not a broken are, just a minor bump/bruise. Now everyone who thought the sky was falling, can come out of their shelters and enjoy the day.
